Creating A CAPITAL Form - Concepts
CAPITAL forms are used to create the daily
stationary required for
the running of a business. These include typical business documents
such as invoices, purchase orders, delivery dockets, as well as
things such as stock and customer labels.
CAPITAL Visual Builder comes with many sample
forms and reports to get you started. When you first start Visual
Builder you are presented with a Wizards box. Click on this to reveal a choice of
Wizards. These include:
-
The Form Wizard
-
The Report Wizard
-
The Label Wizard
-
An Empty Form
Click on the
Form
Wizard to create form stationary. The Form Wizard then prompts
you to select the type of form you wish to create. Select one of
the entries from the list that matches what you desire and click on
Finished.
A pre-defined "default" form will be created for you. It is usually
easier to change a form that has already been created rather than
create one from scratch. However, if you want to create a form from
scratch untick the Standard Lay-Out
check box before you click on Finished.
A completely empty form will then be created, ready for you to
"drop" objects (such as boxes, columns of information, etc.) onto
it.
If you need to define a form that does not match
any of the selections on the list, select the first option -
Card File (Generic). Use
this option to create a form for a card file database or for a
CAPITAL database that does not have a Wizard menu selection.
Most of the time you will be able to select one
of the options from the list supplied by the Form Wizard and most
of the work will be done for you. Just remove those visual elements
of the form you don't want and add whatever you do want.
Keep in mind that you can also load in another
form (of the same type) and use the copy and paste commands to
combine different elements onto the one form.
