What's New In CAPITAL GL Controller? generate/en74.gif

Version 7.4

  • The design of the General Ledger Code Maintenance window and the chart of account structure has improved. It is now possible to specify an account code classification such as Income or Expenses. Comments may be associated with each account code and a new 'QuickCode' feature allows you to create alternate reference codes for accessing general ledger codes when entering journals.

  • Journal entry is now considerably faster, easier and more powerful. For more information on the completely new journal entry input system consult the topic: Entering Journals.

  • The Journal Entry function now supports 'QuickCodes.' QuickCodes are alternate codes you may create and associate with your chart of accounts to make journal entries easier. For example, if your freight code is 20520-25-1, you can assign the code 'FREIGHT' or 'FR' or 'FR1' or 'quick' names to that general ledger code. During journal entry CAPITAL GL Controller will attempt to match your QuickCode against a chart of accounts code, if the code you enter does not match an existing chart code. If found, it will replace your QuickCode with the actual chart code automatically.

  • New report writer account qualifiers are available for quarterly and half yearly financial reporting. For further information consult the topic: Periods, Balances & Groups.

  • Financial statements may now be exported to Microsoft Excel. For information on how export financial statements correctly consult the topic on the new @OfficeLink() function.

  • CAPITAL GL Controller not only automatically translates foreign currency transactions into a single base currency, but can maintain postings to accounts in the originating currency as well. An unlimited number of foreign currency postings may be recorded using the system's 'multi-dimensional ledger' structure. To ascertain unrealised foreign gain or loss at the end of a reporting period, the Exchange Rates Table is used to record the applicable exchange rates for the currencies in use.
