Hints & Tips
-
In the above tutorial you defined the financial
formula range for motor vehicle expenses as starting from 20260-1
and ending at 20260-3. A more flexible ending range could have been
entered as, say, 20260-999. CAPITAL would then automatically place
any account codes that fell between 20260-1 and 20260-999 into the
report sub-total without users having to do anything special to the
financial formula table or the financial report.
-
Always be careful that you don't leave the
opportunity for "holes" in your groups. If you define new financial
groups and these groups leave gaps between them, there is always
the possibility that operators will inadvertently place new account
codes in-between financial formulas. This will result in errors in
your financial statements!

In the above tutorial the words "net profit" now
appear twice on the financial report. To remove the first
appearance of this wording, re-edit the report as described in the
tutorial. Move the cursor keys to highlight the first occurrence of
the wording net profit that you wish to remove. Using the
deletekey delete the
words net profit. You will then need to insert (with the spacebar)
blank spaces equal to the same number of times you deleted to keep
the lines correct. Save the report.
