Undefined Variable / BASE 1003

This error commonly occurs when there is an attempt to run a version of a CAPITAL program that is later than the company data being accessed.

1. Install the correct version of CAPITAL Office.

2. Run the UPGRADE program to upgrade the data to the correct version.

Note: If the UPGRADE program itself is the wrong version, then the Undefined Variable error may persist. If part of the error reports a missing M_ code, then the problem is most likely to be related to the wrong version of a program file, especially if the error is reported when the program is first started.

In rare cases the problem can be caused by:

1. A corrupted database file.

2. When a user restores an old file from a previous version of a back-up.

3. When a CAPITAL file is tampered with (modified) by an external application such as Microsoft Access or Excel.

For information on how to restore the original file structure of the CAPITAL database see the topic: Data Width Errors.

See the topic: Argument Errors for information also relevant to Undefined Variable errors.
