8101 Error
The data file is no longer recognised as a valid CAPITAL file. This may be because the file has been completely destroyed or overwritten by some process external to CAPITAL.
If the file is a critical file you must restore your back-up. Check by performing an Automatic Repair. CAPITAL should tell you which file is corrupted. A non-critical file (such as your tax table file) can be selectively restored from your back-up.
Also ensure that the file is open and accessible for CAPITAL's use. It is not impossible that back-up software or other special utilities may "lock" the file so that it cannot be read
(temporarily) by CAPITAL. Normally such a situation will cause an OS error 5 (file access denied) or 6 (unknown problem with file) but error messages tend to vary with the operating system in use.
