Financial Year Structure
To access this facility select from the main menu Maintenance|General Ledger Setup|Financial Year.
Informs you of the start date of the current financial year, the number of periods in that year, the next general journal and standing journal batch numbers to issue, and displays the period postings table.
Start Date of Financial Year
The starting date of the financial year.
Number of Accounting Periods
The number of accounting periods to be included in the financial year.
Next General Journal Number
Batch numbers may be up to 9 digits in length and can be of mixed alpha-numeric type. The alphabetic portion of the number must be at the start of the number. Examples include: 1, 931, st2311, adj23011, 99999, test1, openx225.
Next Standing Journal Number
The next batch number to issue to standing journals.
Numbers may be up to 9 digits in length and can be of mixed alpha-numeric type.
This lists the period name and date range effected by the period for the current financial year. After a financial year has been created, the start and end date ranges and the period name can be altered. Use the scroll bar to highlight the period you wish to modify. The currently selected period is displayed below the Posting Table. You may change the period name, and affected date range here. You must press the Replace button to save any changes you make.
The
posting table may only be changed for newly created companies or if you have not yet posted journals beyond
period 1.
