Data Files

All CAPITAL general ledger data files begin with the letters "GL" and have the file extension .DBF or .DBT (or perhaps .FPT depending on the version). CAPITAL Office files, or files from other CAPITAL packages, do not begin with the letter "g" or "GL", although users of CAPITAL Office may create card files that start with these letters. Index files used by CAPITAL GL Controller begin with "g" and have the file extension .CDX. This is likely to change in future versions so consult the latest supplementary or on-line documentation for further details if necessary.

It is always safest to copy all files contained in company directories. However, if you wish to just transfer general ledger data to another system, the wildcard specification G*.* should capture all necessary files.
