Complete Automatic Repair
Automatic repair rebuilds index files used by CAPITAL GL Controller to locate account and transaction information. When a hardware malfunction, operator error or misbehaved application interrupts the processing of information by CAPITAL, the most likely (although not necessarily the only) form of damage, is to the index files maintained by the system.
Damaged index files can result in incorrect totaling of accounts, "missing" account codes, batches and other transactions, as well as internal error messages of various kinds. Run the automatic repair utility if you suspect damage to your system or if your system was interrupted suddenly without first exiting CAPITAL. The clean databases process can also resolve problems that the automatic repair process may be unable to handle on its own. It is generally recommended that the clean databases process be run rather than automatic repairs unless time is critical. The automatic repairs process is performed more quickly than clean databases.
