Cashbook And General Ledger
Each cashbook in CAPITAL Office is usually associated with a "bank" account code in your chart of accounts. Entering a positive value transaction in the cashbook produces an automatic debit journal in the general ledger.
As with supplier expenses, once the general ledger is active, entering a chart of accounts code with each cashbook entry becomes mandatory.
Old cashbook transactions: It is best to avoid editing cashbook transactions that have not been allocated
expense codes. (Expense codes for cash book transactions are optional until the general ledger becomes
active.)
When a transaction is edited, the original allocations are reversed. If no expense code was originally assigned, the reversal is allocated to your "suspense" account.
