Budget Calculators

CAPITAL GL Controller makes the task of entering, comparing and changing budgets easy. It does the hack work so that you can focus on the strategy.

From the maintenance menu, select budgets. The following screen will appear:

generate/budget.jpg

CAPITAL may take a short while to copy the budget table contained in the general ledger master file into the memory of your computer. After this is done you are free to add, edit or clear budgets for particular accounts or for a range of accounts.

Use the left and right arrow keys to step through your chart of account codes in alpha-numeric sequence. You may also use find to locate a particular account. Note that "heading" and "total" accounts are not included in this list as they are not capable of holding account balances.

Once the account you wish to set a budget for is highlighted on the screen, the scroll bar may be used to select the calculator that will assist you in allocating it. The most straightforward means of allocating a budget is simply to type an amount against each period. To do this scroll down until the manual calculator is selected, then click calculate.

Once this is done you will be placed in budgets "edit" mode. Enter an amount against each budget, using the up and down arrow keys to move to the period you wish to effect. When you are finished, press enter to return to "find" mode.

CAPITAL GL Controller comes with 9 calculator tools to help you construct a budget.
