Stock Trace Movements
Stock Tracing Component Only
From the Stock Control menu select Tracing|Find Movements/History.
Use this feature to locate the transaction or transactions that a unique stock property such as a serial number, batch number, etc., is associated with.
Enter the assignment you are seeking in the Assignment field.

You may also locate assignments by product code, alternate product code, product description, customer account or transaction number.
For example, if you wished to view all serial numbers associated with a particular customer, you would enter the customer account code in the Account field.
Statistics Information
If the search is successful a list of candidate entries will be displayed on-screen. Press the Statistics button to view more complete information about each entry.
To repeat the search press the Find button again.
Adding Assignments After The Sale
Use the Add button to add serial numbers, etc., to the products history file after those items have been sold. This is useful if you did not have time to enter the serial number(s) at the time of the sale. Any items that should normally have serial numbers but did not have them at the time of the sale will have the message NOT ALLOTTED appear in their Assignment column. Highlight the entry and press Add. You will then be prompted to enter the missing information for future reference.
For more information about adding to the history file see: Stock Tracing Historical Allocation.
Viewing The Assignment If Held In Stock
If the assignment you are trying to locate is currently allotted in the stock file, CAPITAL will display [Also in stock file] on the find window. You can press the Properties button to switch to the stock trace management view. This will list all products in the inventory system that are currently allotted to the assignment you have specified.
Hints & Tips
If you are searching by assignment, CAPITAL first tries to locate an exact match based on your entry. If there are no exact matches CAPITAL will then start looking for the first near match.
If the property type of an assignment's property is a transaction type, date type or numeric type, then the match must be exact. For example, if the assignment was "ADJ3113" then "ADJ3" is not sufficient to locate the assignment. If the property type is character then partial matches will be acceptable. For example, entering "H1" will be sufficient to list all assignments that start with "H1"... Such as "H12311" or "H1EF455B", etc.
