Stock Tagging ![]()
A stock tag allows you to mark/record a stock item for later transfer onto a transaction. This is a quick way to move stock items into transactions without having to remember or re-type their product codes.
The procedure is as follows:
Go into Stock Control and move to the stock item you wish to tag. You can also locate the item by pressing the tab button.
Click
on the status bar at the bottom of the screen. A
will appear and the item is then tagged.
When you are finished tagging stock, move to the transaction you wish to paste them into. This can be a new or existing transaction.
From the transaction menu select Edit|Paste Tagged Stock. The tagged stock items will be pasted into the transaction.
The contents of the stock "tag buffer" will be transferred to the contents of the transaction and all marked items will be cleared.
You can then begin the tagging process again.
To
delete the contents of the tag buffer and start again, select Delete Tags Buffer from the Transaction|Edit
menu when inside a transaction.
You can also tag stock from the various transaction lists. For example:
Open a transaction, such as an invoice.
Click on the tab button.
Click on the Tran button.
For the items you wish to paste, click on the
clipboard under the column.

Click on the button to return to the transaction.
From the transaction menu select Edit|Paste Tagged Stock. The tagged stock items will be pasted into the transaction.
Notes On Pasting The Tag Buffer Into A Transaction
Pasted items will obey the current discount and special rules applicable to the account assigned to the transaction. You should always specify the account of the transaction before pasting.
If you have set the INSTALLATION Workshop option that prevents the same product code from appearing more than once on a transaction, you will be unable to use this utility to paste the same product code more than once. This is controlled by the Duplicate Items Stock Check setting.
