Stock Kit Reference
To access stock kits, go into the Stock Control area of the system and select Tools|Kit Management from the Stock Control menu.
Press the More button to access these fields relating to the entire kit:
Kit Code
Enter the kit product code. A record equivalent to this kit will also be placed in Stock Control. (This will ensure that regular product items cannot clash with the codes of kit items).
Stock Group
Enter the stock group to assign this kit to or click on
to select from a list. It is suggested that you assign kits to their own stock groups, separate from regular
stock group codes. This will make reporting easier later on.
Location
You will only be prompted for this entry if you are running CAPITAL in
multi-location stock control mode. In which case you must assign your kit to a particular stock location.
Click on
to select from a list.
Expand on Transactions
Tick
to allow the kit to "unfold" into its components when it is entered on a transaction such as
an invoice, purchase order, order entry, etc. If stock items have extended descriptions then these are
also placed onto the transaction as the kit is expanded. Expansion occurs to an unlimited number of levels.
That is to say, any sub-kits assigned to the first kit will be expanded as well.
CAPITAL
assumes that you will not want your kits to expand unless you specify this option. Kits still affect stock
levels, order levels, etc., (depending on the transactions they are involved with) of all stock items
they reference, whether they are expanded or not.
Kits
do not expand when invoices are created using the Service
Manager as this would potentially alter the agreed job charges.
Expand on Pick Lists
Tick
this if you want the kit to expand on pick lists (like it does for transactions).
Components Entry
Press New to create a new component or Edit to edit the selected component or double-click on the selected component.
Item No
The item number or ordering sequence of the stock codes that will appear as part of the kit. CAPITAL will automatically issue the next available item number. If necessary, a letter can be placed after the number.
Acceptable numbers include: 1, 200, 921, 12b etc.
Product Code
Enter the product code of the component or click on
to search. You must enter the code of a product or another kit that has already been placed in Stock Control.
If multi-location
stock control is active the location code of the item must match that of the current kit.
Description
The kit component description will automatically be filled in if the product code is specified.
Number of Units
The quantity or number of standard sell units of the specified product code/component that is to be assigned to this kit.
