generate/cbs2.gif Script Programming

Script programming or scripting allows you to add customised features and functions to your system without the need to have the CAPITAL program modified.

A script might be relatively simple. It could be used to perform specialised calculations in a similar manner to the way you would define a spreadsheet formula.

Or a script may be very complex. It might consists of dozen, hundreds or even thousands of lines of programming code.

Scripts are designed to be upward compatible with future versions of CAPITAL. This means that you may be able to customise certain behaviours of your accounting system to suite your special requirements, while still being able to enjoy the benefits of a "standard" application program.

Script Programming is intended for advanced users and programmers only. If you do not have the skills or qualifications to create your own scripts you will need to employ the services of a consultant to assist you. You can contact CAPITAL Office Business Software for more information on such services.

While Script Programming is a powerful feature that can make the CAPITAL system amazingly flexible, it is also a complex subject. CAPITAL Office Business Software does not provide free technical support on issues relating to Script Programming.

generate/mistake1.gif Script programming gives you in-depth access to the workings of the CAPITAL system. If you are not qualified, do not attempt to create scripts that modify the contents of your accounting records.

Badly written or untested scripts have the potential to damage or destroy your critical accounting data.
