Retentions
This is an additional screen for retentions if applicable. See Supplier Transaction Reference or Customer Transactions Reference.
If you need to process account transactions that have Retentions applied to them you will also be presented with these fields:
Rate
The rate of Retention that applies will be displayed. This is taken from the Retention Rate field under the account. It cannot be changed here. If you need to update the rate you should do so by editing the details of the supplier or customer account.
Amount
The amount of Retention is calculated automatically, based on the total payment amount. For example, if the payment amount is $100 and the Retention rate is 48.5% then the Retention amount will be $48.50. You may edit or override this amount.
The amount is rounded down to the nearest whole dollar.
Retention No
This is the Retention transaction number that is assigned to the "Retention Adjustment" transaction that will be created as a result of entering this payment. Normally you would accept the default entry.
Of Payment
This is the payment transaction that the Retention adjustment transaction refers. Normally you would accept the default entry, which is the same as your payment transaction number.
CAPITAL will not bother creating a Retention adjustment transaction if the total amount of Retention would
be less than $1.
