Overview

Welcome to a new way of doing business. CAPITAL is an office automation product that incorporates:

We hope that today will be the start of an exciting new era of efficiency and profitability for your firm.

Firstly, thank you for purchasing CAPITAL.

You made a wise decision, because not only is CAPITAL the most powerful and flexible program of its kind on the market today; but CAPITAL is also very easy to use.

A single business may be run in an enormous number of different ways and this requires a great deal of flexibility. Computerising a business can sometimes end up as a trade-off. Usually something from your old computer system or manual paper system cannot be carried across to the new system, or the new system is not sophisticated enough to handle an important aspect of your business. What these limitations are is not always obvious when you evaluate new software. But sometimes it can be critical. This is where CAPITAL's flexibility and power will be appreciated.

CAPITAL is not an accounting program for accountants. It's an accounting program for business people. It is not designed to replace your existing accountant. It is a myth to believe that a computer program can turn an ordinary person into an accomplished accountant. However, it will do the things that your accountant requires.

The day to day process of running your business is referred to as management accounting.

CAPITAL's philosophy's is to let the experts do what they know best--not try to replace them. That is why CAPITAL's emphasis is with improving the daily running of your business. It will provide you with all the information you need to operate your business efficiently and effectively, and in real time.

A New System for the 21st Century

In times past, accounting programs were designed rather badly. Partly because many simply transferred a manual book system over to a computer system, ignoring the computer's strengths and not giving much thought to new ways of dealing with old problems. Programming tools, and the computers then available, were also extremely limited by today's standards. Unfortunately, in the development of new accounting software most software companies modelled their products on older software, inheriting various redundant concepts and design limitations.

CAPITAL is not modelled on any previous accounting program. To give a typical example of the limits of the older style "first generation" accounting program: if you didn't know the product code the computer couldn't find the product. Once an invoice was printed and totalled it could not be edited. Only one (or few) sell prices was assigned to each stock item and you had to print statements when the computer wanted you to, not when you had time. (Computers had little regard for weekends.) In CAPITAL, stock items are cross-referenced in seven different ways and up to eight prices can easily be assigned to a single stock item. Invoices can be viewed, edited and reprinted for any period. Statements can be issued for the current or any prior month, week or user defined period.

Industry Standard Compatibility

CAPITAL is compatible with literally hundreds of other Windows programs. It is possible to transfer CAPITAL data into graphics programs and spreadsheets. CAPITAL databases conform to the de facto dBase III standard. There is no need to fear "locking your data in". We tell you what's in your databases and how to access it. Word, Excel, Access and virtually any application that can read the DBF file format (and most popular applications will) can manipulate CAPITAL data.

The standard version of CAPITAL is and multi-user, and can easily be upgraded to support more users as the need arises. CAPITAL is Windows 98, ME, NT 4, XP and Windows 2000 compatible. It will also work with Novell networks.
