Menu Maps ![]()

To access menu maps select Special|Menu Editor from the CAPITAL main menu.
Menu maps allow you to alter the standard graphical 'menu maps' that display in CAPITAL when you select different icons from the CAPITAL Control Bar.
Menu Map Editor
Map File
New...
Press to create a new menu map file.
Open...
Press to open an existing menu map file.
Delete...
Press to delete the currently selected menu map file.
Properties...
Press this button to access properties relating to the map itself.
Name
The name of the map.
File
The file name of the map.
Background Colour
The background colour of the map.
No Picture, Internal, DLL File, BMP File
You may specify a background image for the menu map. Options include no picture, an image stored within the CAPWIN.EXE program (internal), an image stored within a DLL file on your computer, or a bitmap image stored on your computer.
File
The file name of the background image if applicable.
Picture
The name of the picture (if internal or a DLL file).
Width
This is an information field which will display the width of the image in pixels.
Height
This is an information field which will display the height of the image in pixels.
Save & Exit
Exits the menu map editor and allows you to save any changes you have made.
Insert
Insert Label...
Insert a text label onto the map.
Insert Line/Arrow...
Inserts a line or arrow onto the map.
Insert Hot Area...
Inserts a clickable 'hot area' onto the map. A hot area may have an associated image or text label. For more information on this subject consult the section 'Hot Area Definitions' below.
Standard Objects
CAPITAL includes a library of standard hot area images that may be pasted onto the menu map.
Hot Area Definitions
When a hot area is placed onto a menu map a dialog appears with the following options:
No Picture / Internal / DLL File /BMP File
You may specify a background image for the menu map. Options include no picture, an image stored within the CAPWIN.EXE program (internal), an image stored within a DLL file on your computer, or a bitmap image stored on your computer.
File
The file name of the background image if applicable.
Picture
The name of the picture (if internal or a DLL file).
Width
This is an information field which will display the width of the image in pixels.
Height
This is an information field which will display the height of the image in pixels.
Action
A library of default actions that will execute when the hot area is clicked or the hot key associated with the hot area object is pressed.
If
a 'script' option is selected then the designated script will be executed when the menu map object is
clicked on or its associated hot key is pressed.
Key
You may associate a function key with a menu map object. When the function key is pressed, the action associated with the hot area will be invoked.
Shift
If ticked
the shift key must be held down when the associated function key is pressed, for the hot area's action
to be invoked.
Has Label
If ticked
you will be presented with further options to define a text label for the hot area.
Coordinates In Pixels
These specify the position and size of the hot area.
Label Text
The text label of the hot area is placed here.
Assign (Left/Centre/Right)
The alignment of the hot area's text label is specified here.
Font
The font of the text label is specified here.
Size
The size of the text label in point units is specified here.
Frame Width
The width of the text label frame is specified here. This is a box that will appear around the text label.
Specifying
a label frame width is optional.
Coordinates In Relation To Button Left Top Centre
You may specify the coordinates of the text label in relation to the position of the hot area here.
Colour
You may specify the colour of the text label's font, the font's background, and the frame width here.
