Kits - Components Listing (#116)
This report produces a stock/materials list for a stock kit in a variety of different formats. It is a multi-functional report that can be used to:
List the items that make up a kit to any number of sub kit levels. (Unlimited and no sub kit levels are also valid settings.)
Print a picking or packing list for a kit.
Determine the contents of costs of a kit.
From Kit Code
The first kit product code to include on the report. Leave blank to select the first kit in the kit file.
To Kit Code
The last kit product code to include on the report. Leave blank to select the last kit in the kit file.
Sort by
Specify the order in which the report is to be presented.
Options include:
Item Number
By the item number sequence entered on the original kit.
Product Code
By product code/part sequence.
Description
By product description sequence.
Alternative
By alternative product description sequence.
Bin
By bin location.
Location + Bin
By product location and bin.
You cannot sort by Item Number Sequence and also print a consolidated report. This is because the same
stock item may have more than one item number sequence specified for it.
Include Cost
Tick
to include the total cost price of the kit on the report.
Consolidate
Use the consolidate option when you want to list each component only once with the total quantity required of each component.
This
setting is often used in conjunction with the Pick List Style setting because
the same component cannot appear twice on this report. Components cannot be listed in item sequence using
this option.
Pick List Style
Tick
to print this report in the form of a pick list.
Quantity To Build
Enter the quantity to build of the kit or kits that will be printed. If you only want to list the components that make up a kit leave this set to 1.
Explode To Level
The number of sub-kits levels to list below the master kit. This setting is ignored if you produce a consolidated kit report.
The
default is 1 which will only print the first level. This means that no sub kit components are listed,
only the names of the sub kits that form part of the "master" (top level) kit.
A kit may be made up of components plus other kits. If kits are embedded inside existing kits then the level setting can be used to control whether their component details are also shown on the report. For example:
KIT1 is made of up:
Component #1
Component #2
Component #3
And KIT2 is made up of:
Component #4
Component #5
If such a kit was printed to level 1 only, then only Component #1, Component #2 and Component #3 would be listed on the report, plus the reference to KIT2. If the kit was printed to level 2, then the components that made up KIT2 (Component #4 and Component #5) would also be included on the report.
CAUTION:
Do not use this type of report to determine the total number of components required to build the master
kit. Firstly, this style of report will only list components required to the specified level. (The contents
of all sub-kits may not be listed.) Secondly, this report does not repeatedly list the contents of sub-kits.
Rather, it lists each unique kit once and at what level the sub-kit was first encountered.
To obtain quantity totals for all kit components print a consolidated kits report.
Hints & Tips
The letter K under the K column next to a component means that it is also a (sub) kit.
