Form Hints
Forms are Visual Builder files that CAPITAL uses to instruct it on how to print your forms stationary.
These files reside in your \CAPITAL directory and have the file extension .STY. Besides the standard files, further examples and variations can be found in the \CAPITAL\FORMS directory.
When printing a transaction such as an invoice, purchase order, sales order, etc., CAPITAL will use the form specified on the File|Print menu of the transaction entry screen.
However, in "global" invoicing operations; such as when creating and printing multiple invoices via the Back Order Control Centre or Service Management global billing systems, more complicated rules may apply.
Form Selection Priorities
CAPITAL determines which forms to print by following these rules:
If a form has been assigned to a specific account, this is always used. You
can assign a form to an account by entering the form name in the Form fields
of your Customer Accounts. This is usually found on the Settings 2 page.
You
must either (a) set-up default forms that will override your customer form settings if you assign forms
to specific accounts or (b) assign all your accounts to forms. If CAPITAL is not given a default form
to revert back to, it will continue to print using the last customer form that was selected.
If a form has been assigned to a transaction type, this is selected. For more information on this topic see: Transaction Sequences Set-up.
Finally, if none of the above rules apply, the original invoice forms specified in INSTALLATION Workshop (under Install|Forms) are used. If the fields Invoice (standard) and Invoice for Cash Sales are left blank, users may change the form name when running CAPITAL. The last name used will be remembered by the system. This allows users to set-up different forms on each of their local computers.
