For Experienced Users and Accountants
There is an old saying that goes "I know what I like." Which can sometimes be put another way: "I like what I know."
If you've used accounting programs before, then you're probably familiar with batch postings and end of period processes. CAPITAL is what we like to call a "live wire" system. Entering an invoice, for example, immediately updates both the stock and customer account files. There is no extra house keeping to do. After all, if a computer can't give you important financial data that is accurate up to the moment, why use a computer at all?
In a like manner, users aren't forced to print out reports if they don't want them. Nor are they restricted in accessing their accounting information. (Provided, of course, that users have the right password and clearances, if security is active.)
We are going to show you that this system is not only quicker and easier to use, but provides the same level of "accounting controls" as the antiquated "batch posting" system does. Only in the general ledger have we retained batching as a procedure, as we feel there still exist legitimate reasons for maintaining them in that context.
Learning new software is hard. Usually its also frustrating, even when learning the best programs. The developers of CAPITAL have had the opportunity to design a system based on the collective experience of its user base over the last 15 years. A huge number of systems from Australia and around the world have also been carefully researched. We have tried to either invent (if we could do better) or emulate (if we could not) the best operational ideas available. For now, you'll have to take our word for it, but as you become familiar with CAPITAL, we think you'll agree.
