Pricing

Account

Enter an account code to check a price for a specific customer account. If you don't wish to enter an account code move to the account name.

Name

Enter the account name if you have not entered an account code. If you do not specify an account code or account name, the product sell price will be based on the default (normal) sell price.

Product

Enter the stock item/product code or move to the description field if you do not know the stock item code but do know the product description.

Description

Enter the stock item/product description.

generate/mistake1.gifAlways cross-check the product code when checking by description as it is possible to have more than one product with the same description.

Date

Enter the intended sale date if applicable.

Qty Required

Enter the quantity required here if applicable. Since the price of an item may be affected by the quantity break it is important to enter the actual quantity the customer intends to purchase in order to arrive at the correct price.

Once the above information is supplied, CAPITAL will list the unit sell price, unit tax amount (if taxes apply), the total sell price including tax and the discount name, if applicable.

generate/notepad2.gif All prices are shown as unit amounts. The quantity break is not automatically used to calculate the total quantity sold by the unit price. If you need to calculate a quantity price press F4 and use the pop-up calculator.

Availability

Once a product has been selected you can check on its availability by clicking on the Availability tab button and then pressing the Check button.

The availability calculator determines if the stock item is available now or if it has to be ordered in. If it has to be ordered in, the calculator gives an estimate on the time it will take for that product item to arrive.

For information on how the availability estimate is derived consult the topic: Stock Availability Estimate

Availability & The Back Order Control Centre

If the availability check is called from the Back Order Control Centre, CAPITAL provides an estimate for the currently selected order. When comparing the current back order to other back orders in the system the date of the back order is used to determine priority, unless the forward date is different from the order date. If this is the case, the forward date is used to determine priority.

generate/notepad2.gifA Forward order is an order that is marked with a date to indicate that stock is not to be allocated to it until that date arrives. A forward ordered back order will not be released until the current system date equals or exceeds the forward order date.

Back orders that are placed on hold are ignored by the availability check. That is to say, they are not considered to exist for the purposes of the availability check.
