File Menu

Add

Create a new customer to be added to the customer database.

Print

Print's the currently selected customer account or the currently selected transaction.

Email

If you have e-mail software installed on your computer, selecting this feature will start your e-mail software and open a new e-mail message addressed to your customer.

Delete

Deletes the customer account.

generate/notepad2.gifYou cannot delete a customer if money is still pending. If this is the case you must delete the unpaid transactions or preferably create an adjustment transaction that will bring the account's balance to zero.

Statistics

Shows customer related statistics.

Log On

Allows you to log into the system with your password.

Exit

Exits customers and returns you to the main menu. If you wish to close the application quickly, press ALT-F4 instead. To just leave the customer area you can also press ALT-X.

Edit Menu

Undo

This option will undo text entry changes made to the selected customer record. You can undo changes until you press the Save button. After you have pressed Save you cannot undo changes.

Cut

Cuts (deleted) any selected customer record text.

Copy

Copies any selected text onto the clipboard.

Copy Address

Copies the name and address details of the currently selected customer account onto the clipboard. You can then use the Paste option found in other applications to transfer this information without retyping it. For example, you can select Copy Address from the menu, switch to your word processor, and then select Paste from the menu to move that information into your document.

Paste

Pastes information held on the Window's clipboard into the currently selected field.

Find

Use to search for a customer account or transaction.

Filter

Filter stock records. For more information consult the topic Record Filters.

Mark Hold

Places the the currently selected customer transaction on hold. This menu option will only be enabled when you are viewing customer transactions.

Mark Special

Mark's the currently selected customer transaction as 'special'. This menu option will only be enabled when you are viewing customer transactions.

Modem Dial

If you have a modem connected to your local PC this feature will dial the customer's number for you automatically. For more information see the topic: Modem Dialing.

View Menu

Customer Records

View the customer record details for the currently selected customer account.

Customer Transactions

View transactions for the currently selected customer account.

Sales History

View the sales (product) history of the currently selected customer account.

Back Orders

View a list of all back orders related to the currently selected customer account.

Sales Orders

View a list of all sales orders related to the currently selected customer account.

Quotations

View a list of all quotations related to the currently selected customer account.

Service Manager Jobs

View a list of all Service Manager job cards open for the currently selected customer account.

Hire Manager Jobs

View a list of all Hire Manager job cards open for the currently selected customer account.

Open Transactions Only

When the Tran tab button is pressed select this option to view only transactions that are open. For example, for purchase orders this would include transactions that have not been fully deliveried or cancelled. For invoices this would include transactions that have not been fully paid paid. For payments this would include transactions that have not been fully allocated.

Transaction Links

This window displays all payments that have been allocated to the currently selected invoice or all invoices that the currently selected payment has paid. It is only accessible when you are viewing transactions.

Notepad Management

This option is used to record notes against your customer accounts and to manage the note pads accessible from the customers area. For more information consult the topic: Notepad Management.

Reminders & Alerts

Select to establish reminder and alert messages for your customers. For more information consult the topic: Notepad Management.

Delivery Addresses

Allows you to manage multiple delivery addresses. For more information see the topic: Delivery Address Management.

Staff Profiles

Allows you to manage sales commissions and labour rates. For more information see the topic: Staff Profiles, Rates & Commissions.

Clerk Codes

Allows you to manage customer clerk codes. For more information see the topic: Clerk Code Management.

Reports

This selection takes you to the customer reporting area.

Tools Menu

Statements

Generate statements for customers. For more information see the topic: Customer Statements.

Letter Runs

Generate overdue account letters and general notices. For more information see the topic: Customer Mailing List Letters.

Customer Price Check

Use to check pricing for the currently selected customer. For more information see the topic: Customer Price Check.

Customer Special Pricing

Allows you to establish special pricing for your customers. For more information see the topic: Customer Special Pricing.

Stock Item Prices

Assigns special prices to stock items when purchased by this customer. For more information see the topic: Customer Stock Item Pricing.

Issue Penalties

Issues penalties to overdue accounts. For more information see the topic: Customer Penalties.

Clear Credit Holds

Clears customer accounts on credit hold. For more information see the topic: Clear Credit Holds.

Cash Payout Entry

Records the movement of a cash payout from a till. For more information see the topic: Cash Payout Entry.

Transfer Record

Copies or moves a record to another account.

Create Job Card

Creates a Service Manager job card based on the currently selected customer account.

Calculator

Invokes the CAPITAL calculator accessory. You can also press F4.

Calendar

Invokes the CAPITAL calendar accessory. You can also press F3.
