To test your Email configuration settings do the following:

1. Start INSTALLATION Workshop.

2. Select from the main menu Install|Email Services

3. Press the Test button.

CAPITAL will then attempt to connect to your Email service and will send a test message to CAPITAL Office Business Software's web site. If the message arrives, the CAPITAL web site will send back a message entitled: CAPITAL Series 7 EMail Services Test.

You must use your standard email client software (such as Eudora or Outlook) to see if you receive this return message. If CAPITAL believes the Email was successfully sent, the message "1 of 1 message sent OK" will appear at the bottom of the test window.

CAPITAL also creates an event log for troubleshooting purposes when attempting to connect using the above procedure. The event log contains diagnostic and error information that is likely to be useful to the person who will determine and correct any fault. This information is stored in the file MAIL.LOG in the currently open company directory.

generate/notepad2.gifDuring the normal operation of CAPITAL, if a problem is detected when sending Emails, the error description will appear in the Event Viewer.
