generate/report.jpg Commission Report On Customer Transactions (#405) generate/en711.gif

To access this report from the main menu select Section|Reports, click on Sales and select the report from the list.

The purpose of this report is to calculate the total number of sales for each salesperson. In order to print a report on a salesperson, that person's code must also be entered in the Staff Profiles Table.

From Salesperson

Enter the first salesperson code or leave blank to calculate sales for all commission staff.

To Salesperson

Enter the last salesperson code to report on or also leave blank to calculate sales for all commission staff.

generate/mistake1.gifYou cannot produce accurate sales totals unless salesperson codes have been correctly entered onto their respective invoices.

Minimum Charge

Enter an amount, to exclude sales below this value, from commission calculations.

Include Charges

Untick to exclude the freight or the special charges component of the invoice from the sale total. This option does not affect the report if you request that commissions be calculated on cost or profit.

Based On Gross Sales

Select to calculate the percentage margin on the gross sale value of the invoice.

Gross Sales Ex Tax

Select to calculate the percentage margin on the gross sale value of the invoice excluding the tax component.

Gross Cost

Select to calculate the percentage margin based on the actual cost of the invoice.

generate/notepad2.gifCertain types of transactions do not have an immediate cost. For example, cash sale orders.

Gross Profit

Select to calculate the percentage margin based on the actual gross profit of the invoice. See the comment above.

Display Sale Profits

If unticked, the profit made on the sale will not appear on the report, unless a commissions by gross profit report is requested.

Calculate On Mark-up

If unticked the percentage profit calculations will be based on the margin rather than the mark-up.

Include Full Lay-bys

When ticked generate/tick2.gif CAPITAL will treat lay-bys as completed sales.

For example: a lay-by has a value of $500.00. A deposit of $50 was paid immediately, and $100 one week later. If this option is ticked generate/tick2.gif CAPITAL will issue commission on the full $500.00 but will not compute further commission payments on part payments (such as the $100 that followed). If the lay-by is cancelled at some later date, commission is reduced by the original commission received.

If the option is unticked, CAPITAL will calculate commission on the $50 deposit, and one week later, on the $100 further payment. If cancelled, the value of the cancellation will be deducted from that salesperson's commission.

Transaction Selection

You may select to exclude certain transactions from commission calculations. For example, it is not normal practice to give commission on late payment penalties or account adjustments.

Report Summary

This option is found on the Report Range dialog after pressing the Next> button. It significantly affects the format of the report. The detailed version will list sales grouped by sales person--whether that salesperson has made sales in the particular date range or not. The summary version of the report is sorted by transaction sequence. A salesperson summary is included at the end.
