If the splash screen logo: Welcome to CAPITAL Warehouse Manager appears, when you start your CAPITAL Symbol application, press Enter to proceed past this message.

Dispatch Application

When the Symbol Phaser scanner is powered up, the CAPITAL Warehouse Manager message "Dispatch" appears. The following menu option are available:

1. Capture Data

2. Send File

3. Delete File

4. Load File

<BK> Exit

Menu items are selected by pressing the up|down navigation keys (or diamonds) or by entering the corresponding menu option number. The menu navigation keys look like triangles pointing up and down.

The asterisk (*) is used throughout the application to cancel the current process and return to the level above.

You should begin by loading an orders file that will be used by the scanner to cross-check the items being scanned. Consult the Phaser Symbol Tutorial for information on how to perform this task.

Once data is uploaded into your scanner, you are ready to begin scanning.

Select 1. Capture Data to begin scanning data. The scanner will prompt you to enter an order number. You must enter a valid order number based on the data you have just loaded. Unrecognised order numbers will be rejected.

Once a valid order number is accepted, you are ready to scan bar codes or enter them via the keypad. The bar code must relate to the order number, otherwise the code will be rejected. Once a bar code code is accepted you will be prompted to enter the quantity. This will default to 1. You may either simply scan the next item, or press the Bk key and then enter the quantity you wish to record, via the numeric keypad.

In more detail, the process is as follows:

generate/notepad2.gifYou can go back to the main menu at any time, by pressing * (asterisk).

generate/notepad2.gifYou can continue scanning multiple order items, without entering the order number each time the scan code is entered. You only need to enter the order number if it is different from the order number of the previously scanned item.

Once scanning is completed, connect the Phaser Symbol scanner to your PC.

generate/mistake1.gifMake sure that all previously scanned data has been transferred to your PC and that is has been imported by the Warehouse Manager. Otherwise new data will overwrite your old data and it will be lost.
