Labour/Overhead Expense Code

The default expense code that will be assigned the total amount of labour/overhead when generating stock assemblies. This option can be overridden at the time of assembly.

generate/notepad2.gifNon-General Ledger Users: Transactions against this account are recorded as negative entries as they typically offset your Salaries/Wages expense account. (You are effectively converting labour time into inventory during this process.)

generate/notepad2.gifGeneral Ledger Users: This account code will be credited and your "Finished Stocks" or "Manufacturing Expenses" account debited during the assembly process.

Direct Expenses Expense Code

The default expense code that will be assigned the total amount of "direct" expenses when generating stock assemblies. Direct expenses typically cover special work that is performed on your inventory items by your suppliers. This option can be overridden at the time of assembly.

generate/notepad2.gifGeneral Ledger Users: This account code will be credited and the "Finished Stocks" or "Manufacturing expenses" account debited during the assembly process. It is recommended that this account code match your Work In Progress account in your general ledger.

Default Stock Assembly Set

The code of the general ledger set that will be assigned to each new assembly by default.

generate/notepad2.gifGeneral Ledger Users: If your chart of accounts operates with the opening/closing stock method of calculating cost of sales, it is suggested that you set-up an assemblies set that has a "Manufacturing Expenses" account specified as both the Stock on Hand and Finished Stocks categories. This will ensure that your balance sheet inventory is not changed until you manually enter your opening/closing stock journals at the end of each period.

Allocate Production Stock

Tick generate/tick2.gif this option to allocate (reserve) stock as it is entered on assembly tasks. Allocated stock is shown as unavailable for sale to customers while not adjusting the physical stock holding level. The physical stock holding level is not altered until the assembly is built.

Print Labels After Building

Tick generate/tick2.gif this option to print forms or labels automatically after an assembly is built. When this setting is ticked the form ASBUILD.STY is printed from Visual Builder, if the form is found in your \CAPITAL directory.

generate/notepad2.gifLabels are not printed if none of the finished stock items have their Labels field generate/tick2.gif ticked.

Build When Routings Finished

Tick generate/tick2.gif this option to automatically build an assembly when all routings assigned to an assembly have been marked as completed via the Scan Routing Tasks function.

generate/notepad2.gifIt should be noted that in this mode the assembly will be built when all routing completion dates have been filled in, even if one or more of those completion dates refer to a future period.

generate/notepad2.gifIf this setting is activated, the assembly is built regardless of whether the user doing the scanning has add or edit assembly security rights.

generate/notepad2.gifAn assembly will not be auto built if it has been assigned direct expenses, as the expenses related to these transactions must be assigned to your expense accounts database or general ledger by a knowledgeable user.

generate/notepad2.gifIn auto build mode operators do not receive a warning that building an assembly may cause one or more stock items to go into negative stock, should this situation arise.
